My life in a nutshell...

Sorry, I know I have been slacking in the blogging area...

Last night and the night before I was sure wishing that I had a camera that worked well in the dark. My boys are so cute. Ethan was crying (again...I think he might be teething...I hope) and Christopher said "Mom, E crying" (we all call Ethan "E") So I said "Let's go tell him everything is OK, and you can tell him night night." So we went into to Ethan's room...apparently, simply comforting Ethan wasn't good enough for Chris. He said "Mom, E rockby" (E needs a "rock-a-bye"). So Chris went and sat in the rocking chair and made sure I got Ethan's blanket for him so he wouldn't get cold. Then he sat there and rocked Ethan and sang "Rockby E, on treetop...wind blows...E rock...when breaks...cradle fall...Topher catch you...E and all" (I sing Rock-a-bye a little different than it's written). I will post a picture if I can get a decent one, it's SO cute. Topher takes such good care of his brother.

And, those of you on Facebook, will know that we didn't get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl...it was NOT a good day, we'll just say that. So we will find out on the 11th of December...assuming we don't have to reschedule AGAIN! This is the 3rd appointment we've had to find out, but we still don't know. The first one we decided to go home early for thanksgiving, so I was OK with that. The second one, Jon's boss (we won't say the words that I think about him, 'cause they aren't nice ones...) decided that Jon couldn't come because he needed to be at an emergency meeting (one of those "I could give you all the information in 5 minutes or less, but you need to be here for 2 hours to hear me space all the information out). So I loaded the boys into the van and started to head to Amber's house to drop the boys off...BUUUUUTTTT the stupid emergency break wouldn't budge (I think Jon still thinks we live in Butte). So I had to cancel AGAIN! This time I SWEAR...I will make it to that appointment if I have to WALK!

And unfortunately the "emergency meeting" at Jon's work was to tell them that they are laying off 2/3 of the company. And they were shutting down the main part of Jon's work. So we have to find a new job...it seems we can't stay anywhere for more than a year. ;) When I was cleaning just not long after we moved here, I came across all of the information that we had about people that had been hiring. I started to throw it away and I had the feeling to keep it. I thought "Why would I need to keep this? We have a job and it's just going to be sitting around collecting dust." Nonetheless, I still had the feeling that I should keep it...I hope I listened, unfortunately, I don't think I did. We are, however, grateful that we hadn't bought a house like we were in the process of doing. We had the house picked out and we were already planning how we could paint it and where we could build more rooms when we needed them...but we both had the feeling that we should wait. We didn't know why and we were worried that the house would get sold before we got the chance to get it...well, that house would have been IMPOSSIBLE to sell had we gone ahead and got it, because the previous owners have only had it about 3 months (they had arthritis in their knees and the house didn't have any bedrooms or bathrooms on the main floor, so they didn't really have the option of not using the stairs). Plus, without the cement plant in full force, Inkom is going to become a ghost town, the majority of people who live there are there to be close to the plant. So trying to sell a house that would have been through 2 different owners in less than 6 months in a town that more people are going to be leaving than coming, would have been a very hard thing to do...thankfully we listened to that prompting.

We find out next week what kind of "severance pay" we will be getting to see what our next move is going to be. But I know that everything will work out. Thankfully I listened to the prompting that we needed to get our food storage going too...we don't need it yet, but it's possible that we might. So we might just pay off the rest of our lease and look for a job from here. We might move in with my parents, or his parents, or we might move into the house behind Grandma and Grandpa Savage's house. They say in this family you aren't "really" married until you live in that house...so apparently Jon and I aren't really married. :) hehehe. We are also trying to decide what would be best to do with the baby. If it would be better to stay here with my Doctor or try to find another Doctor wherever we end up moving. If we stay here all of the kids but Ethan have had to move when they we VERY little (Ethan was 6 months old...Chris was 2 weeks old and this baby will be about 3 weeks old - give or take). Moving with ONE was hard when they are that small...I don't know if I want to find out what it's like moving with 3...a 3 year old...a 1 year old...and a 3 week old. But I suppose we'll pray about it and hope that we are listening.

But for now, it's Christmas time in our house. We just put up the tree (Topher did most of the decorating). I will post pictures when I get them. Right now the sun is out and the tree has to be in front of the window so any pictures I took wouldn't turn out very well. Topher was so excited, I let him put the star on top of the tree...it took a very long time, but we got it done.
I'm glad that I do my shopping so early. I HATE last minute shopping, it drives me crazy, plus when people open presents from me, I'm just as surprised as they are because after that many months, I can't remember what I got for them anyway. LOL! I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with Luke and Sara (Jon's sister and her husband) and of course their boys. I was a little disappointed when I found out that Jon doesn't get any days BEFORE Christmas off. He gets Christmas day and that weekend off, then back to work on Monday. I thought this would be the first Christmas when I don't get to be around any family (other than Jon and the boys). But Luke and Sara invited us to come open presents with them. And my aunt Melin only lives a few minutes from Luke and Sara, and her and her family will be at their home for Christmas, so we will get to see them too. YEAH-A-H! I'm super excited about that.

So, hey, if anyone is still reading this REALLY long blog...you can stop now, 'cause I don't have anything else to say. LOL! <3

Ugh. So sorry about your ultrasound troubles but even MORE sorry to hear about Jon's job. That is terrible! Hang in there and I'm sure something good will come along. :)

I think you should move into Grandma and Grandpa's rental. They put a washer and dryer in there (lucky), you would have TONS of help with your kids, plus you could get my doctor in Powell who is just awesome. (I would recommend having the baby there because they are so nice and all that). I hope you find that job information!

Hi Karen,
My name is Emily Michael and Lauren Shumway told me that you might be moving to Rock Springs and that you wanted some information. I currently live here and I really like it. I am not sure what all you would like to know so I guess if you have questions or anything let me know and I am sure I can answer them and if not I will find out for you.

karen-
It is a pretty good palce to live, you hear about all this horrible stuff especially if you don't live here. I mean when my husband told me he was interviewing for a job here I wasn't happy. I love our ward here I think it is the best. The members are great. In my ward they were so welcoming. Since they have done a lot of construction the town is looking better than before. But I will say their are a lot of "white trash" here and there are a lot of thongs hanging out and butt crack too but once the enitial shock of that wears off it is fine. Rock Springs definately attracks a more transit(sp) population and they are more rough around the edges but that is due to the oil fields. I would raise my family here, although I probably won't live here longer than 7 years just because we would like a bigger town, but we love it here it has surprised us. Funny you should ask about the schools, my husband works in the schools, There are some good schools here, they are building a brand new one that ny husband will be working in and it is near where we live and the Staff are great. I am not sure about too many of the school but a few of the Elemantary ones I know are good. Pre- school is alittle hard to come by just because there are so many little kids here there is a waiting list. But I have already heard of two great ones that I am looking into for my daughter. The population here is over 32,000 and growing. The signs around town say 18.000 but the city just recently did a poll thing for people to resond to with their address and over 30,000 repiled and they said that not everyone in the city replied. So it is growing a ton. I guess the main reason I like it here is because our ward is great I have heard some wards here aren't so good but I know for sure mine and a few others are good. Also the housing market is really expensive here, and to rent will cost you the same to buy pretty much. If you have anymoe questions let me know. I hope I helped.
