Home Stretch!

Yeah, I am in the home stretch for about every thing now! A few weeks until I am in my own home. Speaking of which, has anyone (besides Michelle) heard anything about painting while you are breastfeeding? My sister heard that painting is a no-no when you are breastfeeding, I haven't heard that, so if anyone has heard one way or another let me know please.
And yeah, we are down to one week appointments...that means that we are about done. I asked my Doctor about induction (I really don't like those kind of "surprises"...especially when the hospital is an hour and a half away). So I was glad to hear that she was fine with that. She said they do a lot of inductions due to people being so far away. Her exact words were "We do plenty of inductions...we don't like the idea of having mile-marker babies." I wasn't too fond of the idea either. I know Jon would have a hay-day with that though, he would love that if it didn't hurt the baby at all. Of course, even if I lived next door to the hospital, I would still rather be induced. I like KNOWING when something like that is going to happen. Then I can count down the exact days until we have a baby. Plus, then I don't have to guess if the contractions are real, or if they are close enough together or whatever. I would especially hate that if it were at 3 in the morning. I know I don't think so well that early in the morning. I remember when I was living in Bridger Hall with Ranee' and the fire alarm went off at about 2 or 3 in the morning. The conversation went "What's that sound?" "I don't know"............"I think it's the fire alarm"......"Yeah, I think that's what it is........What do we do?"........."I don't know................We need to get out.".........."Yeah." It's a good thing that the "fire" was just someone burned their chicken. If that had been a real fire, it wouldn't have been good. Plus, if I went into labor in the middle of the night, Ranee's not there. She was the one with the good ideas ("we need to get out") hehehehehe. Good times. Well, that's about all. I was just so excited about finally being at the end!

Blah, Blah, Blah!

This is going to be one of those blogs that's neither here nor there. I just feel like typing, but nothing much has happened (which I've said before...In this family that is a blessing).
I am getting VERY excited, Tommy and I were talking about going on a double date...that doesn't sound right ;) I mean Tommy is coming with his wife and I am coming with Jon...yeah, I don't want to get any rumors started (hehehe). And I was telling him when I wouldn't be able to do it, then I realized that I AM SO CLOSE! We will have a baby in just over a month! Yeah-a-h!
Oh, I am so tired. Don't you hate those nights when you sleep through the night but you are being chased all night? Then you wake up exhausted! On the other hand, my Mom had a point. It IS better than those dreams where you are cleaning your house all night long and then you wake up to a messy house...I would rather be chased all night...at least then you wake up relieved that it was a dream instead of being extremely tired when you wake up AND disappointed that it was a dream.
I am so glad that it's not snowing today. I prayed that it wouldn't snow...driving in snow gets me really freaked out. After living in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho my entire life you think that I would be used to it by now, but I'm not, I still hate it. I have a doctor's appointment today and we already had to cancel once because we got snowed in. Every time I have a baby I get so tempted to get one of those monitors from Wal*mart where you can listen to your baby's heart beat whenever you want. But our first Dr. brought up a good point: since it's not one of those that are REALLY sensitive sometimes you can't hear your baby's heartbeat and then you just panic until your next appointment that something is wrong, when really there is nothing wrong, it's just not sensitive enough or you are holding it wrong or something like that. I know with this pregnancy that would really panic me because I don't go the Dr. as often as I did with the last 2 because there is nothing wrong with this pregnancy...which, I just want to say...I am NOT complaining about. That's not even a "blessing in disguise"...just a blessing. Plus can you imagine driving 1 - 1/2 hours 3 times a week, just to listen to your baby's heartbeat and get one of those things strapped to your belly for an hour to check that the baby's moving and that the contractions aren't doing anything yet, and then driving 1 - 1/2 hours back home. I would really go crazy I think.
Well, that's about all I have to say today.

Our house

So it looks like we are going to be here for 2-3 more weeks and then we can move into our own home! Yeah. I wish I had gotten a picture but I didn't think about it until later...our kids are climbing the walls here (Litterally). I was watching Ethan, he's picked up somethings from Chris (luckily nothing we are going to have to break him of) ;) He goes to one end of the motel and says "GO!", then he will run to the other side, clap for himself then yell "GO!" and run back to the other side. This can keep him entertained for longer than a 1 year old should be entertained with one activity. Then yesterday I was watching Christopher and he would be on his hands and knees and back up to the wall and then start climbing the wall and laughing that he was upside-down. It was really comical.
I did go to the family dollar and pick up some water paints, construction paper and stickers and stuff. So we make sure to turn off the TV and paint or something everyday. It helps. I feel so bad for them, there is nothing for them to do. And, of course, this being Wyoming...the weather doesn't know that it's spring. So it's been way too cold to take them to the park or anything. It makes me feel bad when we take out the trash (it's about 5 feet from our door, so we don't bother having the cleaning ladies do it) and the boys will run outside and it seems like they are in heaven just being outside for 30 seconds. I wish it would warm up here so we could go to the park, they could spend all day there.
And the thing that annoys me the most is that now we are at the point that there is nothing we can do to speed up the loan process. There is no one that we need to call and nag day after day, there aren't any papers that we need to sign, there's nothing to do but wait. Hopefully we won't have to wait as long as Nanny. Oh, that would REALLY irritate me. That's the one thing that has kept me sane during this whole house buying thing is that I know it could be worse. Chad (our loan officer) seems to be pretty on top of things. And if he says "I will do it today." it gets done TODAY without us having to babysit him or nag him everyday to get it done.
I am getting VERY excited though. I have been thinking about what we are going to do with the house (little by little of course)...the first thing we are going to do is get a Washer and Dryer. At these prices they will pay for themselves in a week...even if we go for the expensive brand. The last time we had to do laundry at a laundry mat we were complaining because it got up to almost $2 to wash a load of laundry and we only got 12 min. for a quarter. Here it is $4 to wash and you only get 6 min for a quarter. That really adds up fast. I'm glad that we decided to only bring the bear minimum for clothes. So I suppose we will survive for another 2-3 weeks here...and if the weather warms up enough that we can go to the park I think it will go by fairly quickly.

Because I have been given much...

Yeah, I'm in the 40's!!! (I'm sure everyone is getting sick of me counting down every 10 days, but deal with it...I'm tired of being pregnant) LOL ;) If I knew that Justin could be born now with no complications now or in the future I would be willing (and so much more than willing) to go to the hospital TODAY! On the other hand bringing a brand new baby "home" to a motel would be less than desirable circumstances. ;) Of course I would rather be pregnant than in my cousin's in-laws' place. (We will remember them in our prayers...they just had a baby 14 weeks early). The pregnant part of me is a little jealous that she has her baby and that she doesn't have to be pregnant and then the logical part of me tells the pregnant part of me how stupid that is...I would NEVER want to be in that situation. And if you told me right now that I could trade not having to be pregnant for having my baby and probably not getting to hold him, and sit there and watch my child in trouble and there being nothing (aside from praying) that I could do for him...I would choose being pregnant. So I really shouldn't complain about being pregnant...it's another one of those "blessings" that just don't seem like blessings on many days, but really if I got to choose that's what I would choose.

It kind of reminds me of that story where a guy was complaining about the cross that he had to carry and telling the Lord "it's just too much for me to handle" and how he knew he had it worse than a lot of people around him. So the Lord said "Alright" and he took him back to a room full of crosses of all sizes. The man was astonished at the size of many of these crosses, they were so BIG. And the Lord told him that he could pick out the cross that he had to bear. So he looked for a while...big crosses....worn crosses...new crosses...then over in the corner he found this really small cross. So he told the Lord "I want this one." And the Lord said "But that's the one you just put down." Moral of the story: Many people have hidden crosses that you don't know they are carrying in the first place....other moral of the story? I need to stop complaining, all of the "burdens" that I have to bear are really blessings if you stop and look at it....and you really don't have to look that hard. Even when it comes to my biggest "burden" right now (that house and the loan that makes it look like we are so close....yet we are so far away), how many people out there pray every night that they and their children will make it through another cold night because they have no where for shelter? I WANT to be in the house NOW...but I don't need to. (We even found out that Jon's company is paying for another month in a motel because the loan is taking longer than we thought it would take, so we still aren't even paying for this motel that I'm complaining about). How many people wonder where their next meal is coming from (yeah, I WANT a stove to cook on and an oven to cook in, but at least I know whether we are eating out...again...or having Mac & Cheese or whatnot....I know that my children are not going to go hungry...unless they refuse to eat, in which case I still don't feel bad because it's not because I don't have food to give them). How many women have a prayer in their heart 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that they can conceive a child and still cannot have children of their own? How many women carry their baby only to have a still born or have the child die within hours of birth? How many women wish with all their heart that they could keep this child that they've carried for 9 months but knowing that they cannot provide for this child so they choose to give their baby to someone that can? How many people NEED a bigger house to make their home, but due to finances or whatever else may be holding them back, can't get one?

Do you ever wonder how often the Lord rolls his eyes when you complain? I think to me that would get annoying (I was just thinking that). If I kept giving and giving and giving to someone and they were all "Thanks....but I want more." "What about this or that, that would be nice to have." and then having them tell you that they NEED this or that when you know darn well that it's a WANT....just a want that they have wanted so long they think it's a need. I would be ready to say "You know what? I will show you what it's like not to have things you NEED....you don't even know the 1/2 of it. I will show you for just a while what it's like not to have a roof over your head, and not to know where your next meal will come from, and to have to sit and watch your child suffer knowing that you would give your life for this child...but you can't...knowing there is nothing in this world that you can do except watch and pray. Then we will see if you can be grateful for everything that I do for you." I suppose I should be grateful just for that reason, that the Lord hasn't said "Just let me show you...."

I suppose I am also blessed that there were people (even people that were just friends of people that I know) warn me about Rock Springs hospital. Because I know that if I hadn't been warned I would have chosen a Dr. there because...well, let's be serious....it's A LOT closer to us than Evanston is. And then the birth of this beautiful baby (yeah, I know he's beautiful...he's mine...I haven't had an ugly one yet...hehehe) that I'm having would have seemed more like a burden than like the miracle that it really is. I take for granted the fact that it is a miracle any way because it's just so common now. I wonder what it would be like to know that I will have to risk my life just to have children. (That's why I was born when I was instead of back then, I wouldn't have made a very good pioneer I don't think).

Well, this blog is reminding me of that song (my Dad said they wrote just for women...he was just kidding FYI)...the song that says "Firm as the mountains around us. Stalwart and brave we stand. On the rock our Fathers planted for us in this goodly land...and the chorus says: "Babylon...Babylon....Babylon" (yeah, get it "Babble-on, Babble-on, Babble-on") I just totally went off on a tangent there, but I suppose that's alright. ;)

And just for those that are wondering, (I don't remember if I wrote about Ethan, I think I did) so I will just say we have an appointment for him at Primary Children's Medical in May to get that lump on his leg checked out. So we will not worry about it until then unless we have the feeling like we need to worry about it NOW. And as far as the house goes everything is in order. They would be able to close on the house at the begining of April...IF the loan is ready by then (which by the sounds of it, it is not going to be). But basically everything is ready and we are just waiting on the loan, as soon as all the paper work is done we can have a house! WOO-HOO! And the boys can have a big fenced in back yard to play in, and I can get started on my garden, and then I will have a stove and a refrigerator (big enough that I don't have to go shopping every other day) and a dishwasher (actually, I suppose we will have 2...because we have a portable one and then there is a built in dishwasher that comes with the house)...and then I can paint the walls whatever color I want! I could paint one wall in our bedroom red and the other orange and the other hot pink if I wanted...ewww...I don't want to, but I COULD...hehehe. And since we have a spare room until the next child is born, we are going to have an "activity center". I am going to have 1/2 the room set up where the boys can do all sorts of activities that I found in this cool book (really inexpensive...but the boys have so much fun with them...I don't remember who wrote that book, but they are very smart....and obviously have children) and the other 1/2 is going to be for my scrapbooking and sewing. That way I can do MY fun stuff and not have to leave every 2 minutes to make sure that the boys aren't into something they shouldn't be into or something. And...I get my own bathroom...well, I have to share with Jon I suppose ;) but I think I can handle that. I have never been in a house with 2 bathrooms (by "been in a house" I mean "lived in a house"...just thought I should clear that up). Jon says he doesn't know how we survived with only 1 bathroom...but we did...and no one died....not that there weren't those days where someone almost did. LOL. I'm so excited for our own house.

Home sweet home!

Well, I am home now. And to those that I did not get to see or say good-bye to I really am sorry. I ended up having to leave a few days earlier than I thought. There was a storm coming in so I had to leave. I am so glad to be home. I can't wait until I'm in MY OWN HOME and not in the motel. We are so close to getting there and yet we are so far away. I don't really have a whole lot to say because nothing has happened. (In this family that is a blessing when things are boring). ;)

Woo-Hoo!

Yeah-a-h! My "little" brother is home! He got home on Wednesday at 10:30pm...that's just TOO late for my boys to be up I decided. But we were all so happy! I haven't seen him for so long. He apparently left 1/2 of him in Santo Domingo though...he is so skinny. (For those of you who knew my brother before he left...well, he wasn't so skinny. He looks alot like my other younger brother now. We are having so much fun. I'm so glad he didn't lose his sense of humor though. I think that's what made David...David. He hasn't lost a bit of it though, so it's been REALLY fun here. I do miss my husband though. I would like to stay and listen to my brother talk in church, but I don't know if I can stay away from my hubby for that long. Like my Grandma says "After you get married, it's never the same coming home because you miss your husband so badly that sometimes you forget why you left without him in the first place."

So we still don't know what's wrong with Ethan's leg, but we have an appointment now at Primary Children's medical and they should be able to figure it out. I've known people that went there when they were younger and they were treated well. So I'm looking forward to having a Dr. taking care of my child that actually knows what they are doing. It will be nice. It will be nice too just to know what's going on with him. Hopefully nothing is wrong. Of course I'm hoping that everything works out because the appointment is just a week or so before my due date. So hopefully nothing to exciting happens then either. Well, that's about all that is going on in the Egeland household for right now.

My Baby Brother is coming home!

(Sorry about that last blog) I was going to write "I am so excited" for the title...but then I accidentally hit the enter button and published my blog instead, so now everyone just knows that "I am" ;)
As my title suggests...My Baby brother is coming home off of his mission tomorrow! It still doesn't seem real, so the excitement level is not as high as I thought it would be. It just feels like I'm home for a break or something. And missing my husband terribly. But we are going to go pick up Baby Davy (David, for those of you who aren't family I suppose) tomorrow...way later than we should have to be at the airport with small children. Luckily for me, I have a Mother and Father in law just a little ways away from Billings, so I am going to spend the night there (I am a TERRIBLE night time driver) and then come back in the morning, then I don't have to worry so much about falling asleep on the way home. So we are so excited about him comming home though. Well, Ethan just woke up, so I'd better go get him. (This I think is the shortest blog I've ever written) ;)

If it isn't one thing it's another...

So we finally got a hold of the seller for the house on Moran, and got everything signed and ready to go; all we have to do is get the papers to Chad (our loan officer) and that will get everything going...and now Chad is gone until March 18th....why can't we all just get together at the same time? Uhhhh, it's so frustrating. First we have to wait a week or more EVERYTIME we make an offer, and now that we got everything in that department ready, we have to wait a week before we can get those papers going for our loan.
On the other hand (good news) this week I get to go and see my brother (hopefully, if the weather and the boys and everything else cooperates). He's comming home from his mission on Wednesday (WOO-HOO). It's been about 2 1/2 years since I've seen him. And I got to talk to him the first Christmas that he was gone but I haven't been home for Mother's Day and then I didn't get to go home for last Christmas either...so I'm REALLY excited to see him. And Christopher was just a little baby when he left and he's never met Ethan, at least I will get to see him before the next baby is born...assuming I get to go down to see him this week. I am SO not looking forward to getting into the car AGAIN...but it'll be worth it to see all of my family (except for Brian and his family and Stephanie...they don't get to come). Other than that nothing to interesting is going on here (thank heavens...I am begining to agree with Jon's Mom...we like it when we are un-interesting, that means no one is in the hospital, has any broken bones, siezures, etc., etc., ect.)...I'm alright with being boring. ;)
(Oh, and tomorrow I'm in the 50's....59 more days until my due date....WOO-HOO!)

New Doctor

Wow, I am so glad that we didn't have to do that since the beginning of my pregnancy...that would make for a VERY long pregnancy. We had a 3:00 appointment and we had to leave at 1:00 to get there. And for every form I fill out I feel like I am making everyone's life more difficult than it needs to be since we don't technically have an address yet...and we still have our Montana phone number (yeah, we were a little slow in getting it changed to an Idaho number, so it never really happened). So people never know what to say when I'm like "What do I put down for my address?" They look like "Um, the number on your house and your street name" then I tell them that we are living in a motel right now, then they ask where we are getting our mail sent to and I tell them that it's "General Delivery" and then they have to ask other people what I am supposed to put. It makes all the appointments a little longer. Anywho, back to the new Doctor. I am seeing Dr. Karen Evans. She seems to be real nice, and the baby seems to be fine. So all is well. We are starting to do the 'every 2 weeks' appointments...this is going to be an EXTREMELY long 3 months...the last 3 are always exponentially longer than the first 6 combined if you ask me. Because by then you are just so sick and tired of being...well, sick and tired ;) that you just can't wait any more months. I just hope that we are ALL moved into the house by the time that Justin comes. That will just be one less thing that I have to worry about. Maybe we will have to enlist Sarah's help...LOL...a dinner party 2 days after moving...that's just crazy insane! I'm lucky if I have all the boxes in the right rooms 2 days after moving.

Just so you all know!

Yes, we decided to go with the house on Moran. Yeah, we are finally in the last (albeit LONG) leg of the home buying process. We officially accepted the offer today. So once the loan and AAAALLLL the paper work gets done....we will be able to live in a house Woo-Hoo! Just thought that I would let everyone know what's going on. Hopefully De will be able to get a hold of the seller...or that she will try. So after a while we may have to way for the internet. I will let everyone know when that happens...I am so excited about this house, I can't wait. Then we all get to be in our own rooms (well, Jon and I have to share, but I think I will be willing to make that "sacrifice") LOL! It will be SOOOOO nice to be able to have alone time again...without having to lock myself in the bathroom. ;) And hopefully it all goes through and we can be at least 1/2 done unpacking by the time the baby comes. 'Cause after the baby comes I seriously doubt that that I'm going to be much help in the un-packing department.
Oh, and I can't forget....Congrats to Julie and Dustin who just got sealed for time and all eternity last Saturday.
And thanks to all for your prayers while we've been getting this whole house thing going. They have really been felt.
And just over a week before my brother comes home! Yeah! We are all so excited!

Holy Terrible Hospital Batman!

Oh heavens...I never thought that in my lifetime I would see a hospital that was worse than Missoula, MT...we all know how I feel about Missoula. That bump on Ethan's leg has been getting bigger, so we thought it would be a good idea to get it checked out. So we went to the Immediate Care Dr. office in Rock Springs. They were good (aside from a REALLY long wait). I got in and the nurses were nice and the Dr. came in and checked it out. He sounded very concerned. He let me know that it might not be anything, but by the feeling of bump and Ethan's age, he thought it very well could be some sort of a serious tumor. He said that if the ER can't work with whatever they find, they could send him to the Children's Primary Center. He said that if Ethan were an adult he would order an MRI to make sure what that bump was because it didn't feel good. But since there is NO WAY that we could get Ethan to hold still while they did an MRI (without sedation...which I would rather not do either...). So he sent me to the ER. And (I have to give credit...) he said "I will tell them that I am not going to charge you for this visit because I really didn't do anything." So, needless to say, I was pleased with them. However, when we got to the ER, we waited in the waiting room about 1/2 an hour (not too bad)...and they had us right in to the room. THEN we waited for 2 1/2 hours before the Dr. came in (well, almost 1/2 way in) and said "Ooops! I grabbed the wrong chart. Let me go get Ethan's chart, I promise you are next." Then 45 minutes later...how it took that long to walk less than 10 FEET...I have no idea...so then he comes in and feels his leg and tells me they can't do anything about it. I said "Well, the last Dr. told me not to let you just push me out the door without doing anything...so..." He says "Well, let me go get Dr. so-n-so, he's been here longer than me." Then another 20 minutes later he comes in and says basically "yup, there's nothing we can do, we don't do Biopsies here." (I thought that's what hospitals did, but apparently not). So then obviously, since I mentioned my lack of being able to "disguise" my tone of voice when I'm upset with someone in a previous blog, he knew I was MAD! He says "I realize that you are a little upset..." I told him, "No, I just now understand why everyone told me NOT to come to the Rock Springs hospital because you guys are useless...apparently they were right." Then he started to say something, but just clenched his jaw and left. So then I started to leave and they were like "They have more paper work that you are going to have to fill out before you can leave." So we waited another 10-15 min. waiting for them to get the paper work ready. The Dr. came back and said "I'm going to call (I forget what they call it here...) the Insta-CARE and tell them I don't know why they sent you here, I don't think there is anything we did." So I told him that I whole heartedly agreed that they didn't do anything. And surprise, surprise! They didn't have the decency to at least not charge me for doing nothing. I let them know though, that I would NOT be back there and I was going to find someone that would care enough to do something. So we are going to find someone that didn't get their doctorate from dip-weed school, and see if they can do something. I figure I am going home to see my brother home from his mission. So if we don't find any competent doctors here by then, I will probably take him to Billings and see if they will do something for him there.

I'm in the 60's!!!

Yeah-a-h! I am in the 60's now...69 more days until my due date. Which reminds me, I need to find an OB here. I haven't done that yet. And we need to call Beverly and tell her "no" on that house :( , and we are going to go sign papers for our last offer on that house. I don't know why that guy thinks that he has the upper hand in all this, his house has been on the market for 6 months. So if he tries to counter this offer I think our next offer will be "See you in a few months and we will offer what we did the first time, see if it sounds any more appealing to you then." because right now we are the only ones even looking at the house anyway. Oh, and Mama, I was wrong about the amount of carpet in the upstairs...there is more than 1/2 your livingroom...it goes down the short hallway too, but still not $10,000 worth of carpet by any means. Plus, I want to pick my own carpet anyhow, I don't want some cheap-o carpet that HE chose JUST to sell the house. So we will see what he says at this offer. I am so glad that we have had Luke helping us with this. It's nice to know that there is someone that we can take his word at face value and know that he isn't just trying to make a buck off of us. I wish we could have just brought Desiree and David (our realtors from Pocatello) with us...I really liked them, I felt like they were working FOR US (given, I understand that they were also trying to make money, that's what realtors do) but I felt like if there was something in the house to be worried about they would let you know "this and this would need to be fixed, I can only guess, but I would guess it would cost x-amount to fix it" etc. etc. I really wonder sometimes if De knows what she's doing. It feels like any time we want to see a house more than once it's like "*Sigh*, ok....um....well...yeah, I could do that....." and it feels like she thinks it's a burden to do her job. I let Jon do all of the talking (he thinks it's funny), but I am like my Mom, I just have a hard time hiding my emotions in my tone of voice. If I'm upset with you, I can't talk to you without you knowing that I'm upset or if you hurt my feelings, or if you just make me irritated...you'll know, because disguising my tone is just not one of my talents. So if she asks a question Jon answers, if he's not there then I just keep my responses to a 2 word or less reply. I need to go get dressed, we have to go sign the contract AGAIN for this offer and have to re-read the whole thing (that SHOULD be the same as the last contract with just a different offer...but I just don't know that I trust her. Last time we signed a contract I was reading through it and I noticed that it said that the BUYER (us) was the one paying the 2% for her "services". So I asked her about it, and she said "Oh, it won't let us take it out, it says in there somewhere after that, that it's NOT the buyer, but the seller that pays the 2%" So I asked her where...she couldn't find it so she says "Well, I promise it's in there somewhere." I had to ask her 5 times (I am not exagerating) where it was until I finally said "I will NOT sign this until I see with my own eyes where it says that we are not going to pay for it." I was thinking if it was something that if she's lying I would lose like $20 or something, I probablly would have signed it because the boys were getting restless and I wanted to go home...but in this case if she was lying it would cost us a couple of THOUSAND dollars, I'm not OK with that. So again, she's all annoyed because I'm making her do her job. and she couldn't find it, but low and behold she printed up another contract (1 of 4 of the SAME contract because she kept messing something up) and MAGICALLY there it was...right in the same spot where the "computer wouldn't let them take that part out"...that part got taken out. Funny how that happened. That could be another blessing in disguise I suppose. If we have to wait for this house, then starting in April Jon gets "lawer privilages" through the company. We would only have to pay less than I'm sure it would cost for an hour of "lawer time" if we paid for it ourselves and that gets us "lawer privilages" for a month. But we don't qualify until April for that. So whatever happens, happens I suppose.

The LONG blog...

Oh, goodness, I'm trying to keep my sanity, but I think it is a losing battle. There are so many things going on right now that are blessings and curses all at the same time. It confuses my brain...LOL. Jon and I were discussing the cost of our loan and what we would have to put down in cash to start with. We talked for a while and came up with $1,200 is what we would have to put down...I thought "That can't be right..." I was sure that Jon had heard Chad wrong (Chad is our loan officer). I told Jon, that's not the way I understood it. And that's way too low for all of the costs of buying a house. So we finally decided that I would call Chad the next day to see who was right. I was praying that Jon was right but at the same time knowing that there is no way he could be right. So I called Chad and YEAH! Jon was right! I never thought I would be so happy about being wrong. LOL! But when I called I also found out that if everything got in order TODAY (we got a hold of the seller...which, in and of itself is a feat...he accepted our offer...and all the paperwork got drawn up and signed and all that jazz) then the loan itself (since it's such a good loan financially speaking) has a TON more paper work than a normal home loan does *uhhh* and will take AT LEAST 30 days to complete...so we are going to be living in a motel for another month at least.
And the latest house that was on our blog (I have pictures of the cute victorian house with the double garage and the play yard in the back and the beautiful flower gardens all over the front yard...I didn't have pictures of that though)...yeah, I fell in love with that house the second I walked into it. But we prayed about it and felt that it wasn't right. That about made me cry. And so I prayed again...just to make sure that I was paying attention...well, that and probablly more 'cause that's not the anwer I wanted...and I still got the same answer...I wanted to ask again, just to check ;)...but we all know what happened to Martain Harris when he did that, so I didn't ask again. I'm one that believes everything happens for a reason, I would really like to know the reason that we just "happened" to drive past that house while we were house hunting and then it "happens" to be right in our price range, and just "happens" to look like the house that I've always dreamed of living in...and then get the answer "No". I suppose I'll find out some day. Maybe it's just a lesson in listening to the spirit...even when you don't really want to hear what he has to say.
Then last night...was a long night. It wouldn't have been so long I don't think if I would just learn to ask for a priesthood blessing FIRST, instead of waiting until I don't have any other options. Jon was up playing Star Craft (I don't know who invented that game, but I think they should be drug into the street and stoned...that's just my oppinion ;)), and it was getting late...I would have made him come to bed except that I knew if he did I would just keep him up. I don't have any clue what caused it, but I was really hurting last night. It felt like someone had punched me in the ribs (it came on all of the sudden)...at first I thought it was Justin, but then I could feel Justin moving all over and if it had been him, even if the pain was still there it would have been moving to different areas. I tried laying EVERY different way that I can lay while I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant and the pain wasn't moving or decreasing at all. And it was making it really hard for me to breath. And on top of that I was having a TON of contractions. We were debating going to the hospital because I had no idea what was wrong and I was afraid that it would be putting Justin in jepordy, whatever "it" was. So I finally asked Jon to give me a priesthood blessing and within minutes the pain was gone and I felt at peace and was able to go to sleep...after tossing and turning and hardly being able to breath and having contractions and worrying myself sick, if I would have just asked for a priesthood blessing FIRST, I could have saved myself the trouble. Oh, well, maybe someday I'll learn huh? It's only taken 25 1/2 years so far...maybe in another 25 I can just ask FIRST...
Jon seems to really like his new job (except for the MSHA training....BORING!) but he's almost done with that. He seems to like the people there and they have been giving us advice on where would be good places to live, and all sorts of advice, they've been real helpful.
I am doing well (although finding out that Fast Food for nearly every meal does NOT agree with me). We have been making do with the microwave meals though because I just can't eat out any more, it was fun at first because we didn't get to do that, but now, eating in doesn't seem like a "Oh, I HAVE to make dinner again...what should I make...I don't feel like making dinner, so let's eat out...well, I don't want to spend the money..." etc., etc., etc. Now it's kind of the opposite. "Yeah, it would be more convienient to eat out, but I REALLY don't want to." So the motel is making us healthier because eating out isn't so appealing to us any more.
One thing I thought the motel would do is make potty training Chris IMPOSSIBLE! 'Cause I can't let him run around in underwear because if he does have an accident then it's not our stuff. But it seems to be doing the opposite. He's doing a lot better now. I think mostly because the motel has a seperate "wash room" (I don't know what it would be called....it has a sink and a closet and then a door into the bathroom) that I can close the door and the boys know they are not allowed back there (unless they are taking a bath or using the bathroom). So obviously places that are "off limits" seem more enticing...so he knows he has to use the bathroom to be back there. Whatever the reason is that he's doing better, I really don't care, he's doing better, I'm happy with that.
As soon as we find a Doctor here, I think we are going to take Ethan. He still has that bump on his leg, and the other day we noticed that there was a bruise over top of it now. For anyone that I forgot to tell, Ethan has a really hard bump on his upper thigh (it feels almost like bone, but it's not), and we can't tell if it's getting bigger or not and we don't know how long it's been there, but it's not going away, and it hurts him when any pressure gets put on it. So we figured we'd better get it checked out, just to make sure it's nothing serious. But he's not sick anymore, so that in and of itself is a blessing. I think it was just the stress. And I know that little kids are very receptive to adult stress levels and there was PLENTY of that to go around. But it's much better around here lately.
