Baby Names

I'm almost sad to say that the names the Brian, Michelle, and Eric (jokingly) suggested for the new baby are FAR better than the ones I have been seeing on the internet. Since when is Bonnie a unisex name? Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but some of these names are insane. Like Adjatay (to me sounds like agitated...why don't you just name your kid "accident"), Agoyoanye (another unisex name...I have no idea what it sounds like 'cause I don't know how to pronounce it), Alastair (Hey now, you're an all star, get your game on go play...) ...these are the names that I found when I clicked on the link for "commonly used English names". I thought that link would give me names like Brian, Eric, David, Christopher, Ethan, Samuel...you know NORMAL names. No...it didn't. There was one name (I can't remember what it was) I thought "Man, that is the dumbest name I have EVER heard (and I've heard some really dumb names before). I was wondering why you would name your kid that, then I thought well maybe it has a "noble" meaning or something...the meaning of the name was like "elf supervisor" or something like that. I thought, you know if you're going to give your kid a stupid name that's going to get him beat up for the rest of his life, why don't you at least give your kid a reason to be proud of that name. How could you explain that to your child. I know you get beat up on a daily basis because I gave you a really, really stupid name...but hold your head high, because your name means ELF SUPERVISOR. I can see the child being like "yeah, Mom, can you hold while I call Child Protective Services? I'm sure I've got a case against you."

Oh, and the names that my Brothers and Sister came up with (they were NOT serious...just a disclaimer, my siblings aren't that strange). (Brian) Pervus (which apparently someone named their kid...he ran away from home...we don't blame him), Rotten, and Easter (say it with my last name...that makes it funny...Rotten "Egg"land, Easter "Egg"land...yeah). (Eric) Tophethan. Michelle said that would be a logical name since that's what we will be calling anyway (My sister always got called KaMichelle and I got called MicKaren). (Michelle) Hobart the Dolphin Boy. I would not be surprised if any of those names ended up on the babynames.com list of "normal English" names.

I liked Ranee' and Melin's suggestions, they suggested Matthew and Eli. I also like Jaden, Justin, and Benjamin...but if we name our boy Benjamin, no one is allowed to call him Benny (that's why Ethan didn't get named Benjamin). If anyone has any other boy's names that are cute (and normal), or any that you think sound good with any of the above mentioned names...not the "Rotten" , "Tophethan", or "Hobart the dolphin boy" names ;) We would really love to hear them, because we really have NOTHING!

We've had a few appointments and at every appointment they said that my blood pressure was great...something I haven't heard in a very, very long time; so the surgery must have worked. And I think out of the whole pregnancy the 2nd trimester is the best (generally speaking), the baby isn't kicking hard enough to keep you up all night, or quite big enough that when you get kicked in the lungs it doesn't drop you to your knees yet...plus (the best part) NO MORE MORNING SICKNESS (or at least not NEARLY as often)...and I have decided that a man must have named it "morning" sickness..."all-day" sickness is more like it. And you finally get to that point where people are like "I think she's pregnant" instead of "She looks like she's letting herself go." It's by no means a picnic, but out of all the trimesters, I think it's the best. So we are all getting along very well here at the Egeland house. The boys are doing great! Jon is a little sick today, but for the most part he's usually doing well also.
