Question!!!

Anyone that can explain to me (keeping in mind that I am technologically impared) how to make your blog stay only in the middle area where it is meant to be, instead of extending out into the "decorative" part where it's hard to read, would be greatly appreciated. It drives me crazy and I don't know how to fix it.

The Egeland's "BLAH"-G

This is not going to really be a blog of any importance I don't think. I just felt like writing.

I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER! Don't you hate when you order something on-line that you really, really, really, want and you think "Man, it should be here by now..." and then you realize you just ordered it yesterday...after the offices were already closed. It makes for a VERY long wait. I ordered a whole bunch of things from Deseret Book (which I've decided is my new favorite store). Because EVERYTHING in there is good...which also makes it not a good thing too though, 'cause then you want to order EVERYTHING. I got a bunch of things that will work wonders for Family Home Evening, and some things that are made for keeping your kids quiet in Sacrament Meeting (That will be well worth the money if it works, and if it doesn't it should still work for FHE). We forgot about FHE last night so Jon says "Will it be alright if we just sing a bunch of Primary songs that Topher knows?" ('Cause everything that I could just throw together I needed to make some copies and I forgot to buy ink the other day when I went shopping...well, I remembered, I just forgot to see what kind of ink I needed before I left). So we were singing songs and after we had our closing prayer Chris was going through my bag of all the Primary stuff I've accumulated through the years. And I had put the "BOM stories in there with them." I don't know what they are really called, they are those cut outs in the "Friend" that are really awesome! I am so glad that my Aunt Tamina showed them to me (that was a big reason I started getting the 'Friend' - which I should have been doing already I suppose). So we had a "Speed FHE" after the songs. Chris went through and we told the story of the strippling warriors, Joseph Smith and the brass plates, Jesus comes to America, Lehi in the wilderness, King Benjamin, and about 5 others...all in less than 15 minutes. I found out that I need to "brush up" on a few of my scripture stories. But it made me all the more excited to get all of my Deseret Book order. Which feels like I have been waiting for years for, but really, it will be a week on Thursday...uhhhh.
So we are still job hunting. We are trying to decide what to tell our landlords. They know that we are losing our job at the end of this month, and they put out an ad to rent our house....they've been really good about all this. We had some people looking at the house yesterday, they seemed to like it. They had talked about selling the house, but since they found some people that might want to rent it, they are going to go that route first, which is a good idea, that way they still have some income to fix the things that are wrong with the house that they would have to fix anyway in order to sell it. I told Jon that we could move into a motel with a monthly rate or something and then put our stuff into storage . Apparently there is a possibility of a job here in Pocatello. I don't know how likely that is or if it is something that he needs more work experience to get. I suppose we will just play it by ear. I just feel bad that our landlords have been so good about all this and I don't want them to lose money. But if we stay they will be losing money on the for rent add. Because who is going to be looking for a place to rent and not want to move in until May? Not a lot of people. But if we move into a motel and then find out we got the job here in Pocatello, then that was just a needless move. And I really don't like moving and packing. So, here everything is up in the air. We may be moving at the end of this month or next or we may not be moving until May. It's really hard to pack when you don't know how much to leave out because you don't know how soon you will be moving. If we have to temporarily move into a motel we can at least pay with my credit card that gives us rewards for staying at motels, then it would be like getting free things for paying "rent". Well, I'm sure that whatever happens it will all work out for the best. I wish that Ranee' (my cousin) wasn't having to deal with this too, but it was kind of nice having someone to talk to that understands what it feels like to have to move after you thought you were going to get to stay put. It kinda sucks...it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't like Pocatello, or if the church here were like the church in Missoula....but I do like it here, and the people in this ward are so good, it feels like leaving family. But it will all work out I know.

Random Thoughts

Well, I figured now is as good of time as any to catch up on my blog. (It's not my fault that I haven't written for a while though, our computer crashed...so that will be my excuse).

It's 2 AM right now, so if some of this seem random (or at least more random that usual) that's the reason. Jon left this afternoon to go and see Chris (Lanterman). And I really hope that his guardian angel didn't hang himself after that ride. I hate when he drives and I'm not there to tell him to slow down, he forgets that he's not invincible. But it was good timing I suppose. I say that because I don't sleep well when he's not here. The bed seems too big and I hear every groan and creek the house makes...and they all sound like someone is breaking into my house, or a fire, or some sort of natural disaster. So, the boys...yes, boyS, as in both of them...decided to get sick tonight. So at least I'm not wasting time wishing that I could sleep and not being able to for no reason. It's better to have a reason, at least that's what I think, if I can't sleep. Besides if the boys are going to keep my up all night anyway, I can handle it better if they are not feeling well, as opposed to they just don't want to go to bed. So I am up doing laundry so that the boys will have something to wear and something to sleep on. I really hope that Chris is better by Saturday. They are having a meet and greet for the Primary...my baby is going to be in Sunbeams this Sunday. That makes me want to cry. It's funny how you can just pray that they will grow up soon one second, and then the next you just want them to stay your baby forever. Chris' Primary teacher called to remind him of the "meet and greet" thing...I don't know if I've met her or not, but she had a kind voice. I pray for that poor woman. When Chris and Joshua (another kid from Nursery) get together...I just don't know how one woman could handle those two, let alone those two and who knows how many other kids all at the same time and try to keep them occupied for 2 hours in a row. She is a brave, brave lady.
I can't wait for the next week or two. I ordered some things from deseretbook.com. I've decided that that is my new favorite store. And they should be here in a week or two. Of course they didn't have a few of the items that I wanted on-line, so I will just have to go to the store and get it. Like it's that bad, the Deseret Book Store is like MAYBE 10 minutes from my house. I'm more worried about grocery shopping at Wal*Mart and Costco alone with Topher and Ethan. And Topher is at that age that he wants to help with EVERYTHING and he's a "big boy" so forget just sitting in the cart...he needs to be out and running around. He's really pretty good at staying with us while we're in the store, he just needs reminders alot. There's a lot of "Topher, that's too far!" "Christopher, Mommy can't see you!" "Hey, don't touch that." "No, we don't need that." "Put that back." "No, we are not getting a $250 Thomas the Train toy, I don't care how cool it is."
But more than that, I am dreading last minute packing. I don't know, I just can't seem to convince myself that it needs to be done RIGHT NOW! Usually, when we move, I know a LONG time in advance. So I start packing here and there, and that way it gets done without being an over-whelming task. But since we didn't get that much advanced warning...that and we still don't know WHEN or WHERE we are moving. Maybe by some miricle we can stay here...that would be nice. I like it here. Well, I just keep thinking about what Kaitlyn (Darci's girl) said in Testimony Meeting when they found out that they were going to have to move again after they had planned to stay put; she said "In order to be happy, I just have to believe that where ever we end up, God put us there for a reason." (Such adult wisdom out of the mouth of babes huh?...Well, I suppose, she's older than a little child, but not quite an adult yet...but out of the mouth of adolesents just doesn't sound the same). So I just have to believe that wherever we end up that we were put there for a reason. I just hope it's some little town that no one has ever heard of before...that's where I like to be. Shopping within driving distance, but in a town small enough that everyone knows everyone. Given, that does get a little annoying at times when you're in a place where if you sneeze everyone knows about it within an hour. But on the other hand, if there is a sex offender or something...EVERYONE knows about it...even if they aren't registered. Those are always the ones that worry me, the ones that aren't on any registery, that you don't know about and can live as close to the schools as they want to just because someone was too scared to make an "offical" report. But in any case, as long as we don't end up in Chicago or something, I'll be good. No offence Beth, but cities just aren't my thing. ;) I would prefer to be able to send my child to a school where they don't have to go through metal detectors to get in, where a graduating class of 75 will make the paper because it's the largest graduating class they have had in years...that's where I think I would be most happy.
Now, I am just trying to decide if Ethan is really planning on going to sleep. I think he is, but I am afraid that JUST as I start to drift off into a nice peaceful sleep, he's going to wake up again. And I am not the nicest person in the world when I keep getting woke up when I'm just on the verge of sleep. And then I yell, and then I feel really terrible, and then I can't sleep anyway. Then I get even more frustrated, then it's time to wake up and be ready for the day. And I still will feel bad because everyone knows that when Mom ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Well, I am so tired, I think that I am going to try. If he wakes up again, I will just have to try and remember that he is sick and not to get mad. Goodness gracious this is a really long blog. I hope it kinda, sorta made some kind of sence, if not, no one said that you had to read it. ;)

Baby Names

I'm almost sad to say that the names the Brian, Michelle, and Eric (jokingly) suggested for the new baby are FAR better than the ones I have been seeing on the internet. Since when is Bonnie a unisex name? Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but some of these names are insane. Like Adjatay (to me sounds like agitated...why don't you just name your kid "accident"), Agoyoanye (another unisex name...I have no idea what it sounds like 'cause I don't know how to pronounce it), Alastair (Hey now, you're an all star, get your game on go play...) ...these are the names that I found when I clicked on the link for "commonly used English names". I thought that link would give me names like Brian, Eric, David, Christopher, Ethan, Samuel...you know NORMAL names. No...it didn't. There was one name (I can't remember what it was) I thought "Man, that is the dumbest name I have EVER heard (and I've heard some really dumb names before). I was wondering why you would name your kid that, then I thought well maybe it has a "noble" meaning or something...the meaning of the name was like "elf supervisor" or something like that. I thought, you know if you're going to give your kid a stupid name that's going to get him beat up for the rest of his life, why don't you at least give your kid a reason to be proud of that name. How could you explain that to your child. I know you get beat up on a daily basis because I gave you a really, really stupid name...but hold your head high, because your name means ELF SUPERVISOR. I can see the child being like "yeah, Mom, can you hold while I call Child Protective Services? I'm sure I've got a case against you."

Oh, and the names that my Brothers and Sister came up with (they were NOT serious...just a disclaimer, my siblings aren't that strange). (Brian) Pervus (which apparently someone named their kid...he ran away from home...we don't blame him), Rotten, and Easter (say it with my last name...that makes it funny...Rotten "Egg"land, Easter "Egg"land...yeah). (Eric) Tophethan. Michelle said that would be a logical name since that's what we will be calling anyway (My sister always got called KaMichelle and I got called MicKaren). (Michelle) Hobart the Dolphin Boy. I would not be surprised if any of those names ended up on the babynames.com list of "normal English" names.

I liked Ranee' and Melin's suggestions, they suggested Matthew and Eli. I also like Jaden, Justin, and Benjamin...but if we name our boy Benjamin, no one is allowed to call him Benny (that's why Ethan didn't get named Benjamin). If anyone has any other boy's names that are cute (and normal), or any that you think sound good with any of the above mentioned names...not the "Rotten" , "Tophethan", or "Hobart the dolphin boy" names ;) We would really love to hear them, because we really have NOTHING!

We've had a few appointments and at every appointment they said that my blood pressure was great...something I haven't heard in a very, very long time; so the surgery must have worked. And I think out of the whole pregnancy the 2nd trimester is the best (generally speaking), the baby isn't kicking hard enough to keep you up all night, or quite big enough that when you get kicked in the lungs it doesn't drop you to your knees yet...plus (the best part) NO MORE MORNING SICKNESS (or at least not NEARLY as often)...and I have decided that a man must have named it "morning" sickness..."all-day" sickness is more like it. And you finally get to that point where people are like "I think she's pregnant" instead of "She looks like she's letting herself go." It's by no means a picnic, but out of all the trimesters, I think it's the best. So we are all getting along very well here at the Egeland house. The boys are doing great! Jon is a little sick today, but for the most part he's usually doing well also.

So forgetable am I...

I also was going to tell everyone that we have NO IDEA what we are going to name this baby. We had a name picked out for a girl, but we have a hard time agreeing on boys' names. So anyone with any cute boys names...none that are "out there" please, we would LOVE to hear them. Hopefully we will have a name picked out by the time he is born...that sounds so nice saying "he" instead of "it" or "he/she" or "the baby" hopefully we will be able to say an actual name.

Baby!!!!

Alright, so I was wrong...We found out today that we are having a boy...not a girl. And I am still very excited. I was a little worried when I thought it was a girl, 'cause the boys play so rough I thought they might just kill a girl. Jon was excited...although I think that maybe he was hoping for a girl. And Teri (the one who did my ultra-sound) said that if you have two boys for the first children then you are more likely to have a boy for the 3rd and even more likely from then on to keep having boys...I say *DUH* how many people keep having kids after 3 or 4? So that would really make your odds go up. But in any case, I guess I can ask Jan Asay...she knows how it is. :) LOL

I really like these people here at the Pocatello Hospital. They are all very kind and let you know what they are going to do, what they are doing, and for the ultra-sound she paused every few seconds just to let me know what we were looking at (a leg, arm, spine, etc.) We got a DVD of the ultra-sound so we can watch our baby whenever we want to (Yeah!)

And Jon got a call back from that place in Green River/Rock Springs. It sounded very promising. We will pray about it. I hope it will be good because they know the situation with Ash Grove, so he would most likely start as soon as we finish here and can get moved down there. Plus we'd be making more than we are making here. So it would a good move if we like it there. Hopefully if we get offered the job we can go down there and check out our ward and see if we like it before we have to decide...(hint hint Mom and Dad Allred or Egeland...we may need babysitters so Jon and I can go down there) I would hate to end up in a "Missoula-like" ward and have all my boys grow up thinking that that's how LDS members are SUPPOSED to be. I suppose if we pray about it and listen then Heavenly Father knows if we will like it there whether or not we get to check it out first. So everything in the Egeland household is going well as of now.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers for us while we are in this "transition"...it has been felt by us all.

My life in a nutshell...

Sorry, I know I have been slacking in the blogging area...

Last night and the night before I was sure wishing that I had a camera that worked well in the dark. My boys are so cute. Ethan was crying (again...I think he might be teething...I hope) and Christopher said "Mom, E crying" (we all call Ethan "E") So I said "Let's go tell him everything is OK, and you can tell him night night." So we went into to Ethan's room...apparently, simply comforting Ethan wasn't good enough for Chris. He said "Mom, E rockby" (E needs a "rock-a-bye"). So Chris went and sat in the rocking chair and made sure I got Ethan's blanket for him so he wouldn't get cold. Then he sat there and rocked Ethan and sang "Rockby E, on treetop...wind blows...E rock...when breaks...cradle fall...Topher catch you...E and all" (I sing Rock-a-bye a little different than it's written). I will post a picture if I can get a decent one, it's SO cute. Topher takes such good care of his brother.

And, those of you on Facebook, will know that we didn't get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl...it was NOT a good day, we'll just say that. So we will find out on the 11th of December...assuming we don't have to reschedule AGAIN! This is the 3rd appointment we've had to find out, but we still don't know. The first one we decided to go home early for thanksgiving, so I was OK with that. The second one, Jon's boss (we won't say the words that I think about him, 'cause they aren't nice ones...) decided that Jon couldn't come because he needed to be at an emergency meeting (one of those "I could give you all the information in 5 minutes or less, but you need to be here for 2 hours to hear me space all the information out). So I loaded the boys into the van and started to head to Amber's house to drop the boys off...BUUUUUTTTT the stupid emergency break wouldn't budge (I think Jon still thinks we live in Butte). So I had to cancel AGAIN! This time I SWEAR...I will make it to that appointment if I have to WALK!

And unfortunately the "emergency meeting" at Jon's work was to tell them that they are laying off 2/3 of the company. And they were shutting down the main part of Jon's work. So we have to find a new job...it seems we can't stay anywhere for more than a year. ;) When I was cleaning just not long after we moved here, I came across all of the information that we had about people that had been hiring. I started to throw it away and I had the feeling to keep it. I thought "Why would I need to keep this? We have a job and it's just going to be sitting around collecting dust." Nonetheless, I still had the feeling that I should keep it...I hope I listened, unfortunately, I don't think I did. We are, however, grateful that we hadn't bought a house like we were in the process of doing. We had the house picked out and we were already planning how we could paint it and where we could build more rooms when we needed them...but we both had the feeling that we should wait. We didn't know why and we were worried that the house would get sold before we got the chance to get it...well, that house would have been IMPOSSIBLE to sell had we gone ahead and got it, because the previous owners have only had it about 3 months (they had arthritis in their knees and the house didn't have any bedrooms or bathrooms on the main floor, so they didn't really have the option of not using the stairs). Plus, without the cement plant in full force, Inkom is going to become a ghost town, the majority of people who live there are there to be close to the plant. So trying to sell a house that would have been through 2 different owners in less than 6 months in a town that more people are going to be leaving than coming, would have been a very hard thing to do...thankfully we listened to that prompting.

We find out next week what kind of "severance pay" we will be getting to see what our next move is going to be. But I know that everything will work out. Thankfully I listened to the prompting that we needed to get our food storage going too...we don't need it yet, but it's possible that we might. So we might just pay off the rest of our lease and look for a job from here. We might move in with my parents, or his parents, or we might move into the house behind Grandma and Grandpa Savage's house. They say in this family you aren't "really" married until you live in that house...so apparently Jon and I aren't really married. :) hehehe. We are also trying to decide what would be best to do with the baby. If it would be better to stay here with my Doctor or try to find another Doctor wherever we end up moving. If we stay here all of the kids but Ethan have had to move when they we VERY little (Ethan was 6 months old...Chris was 2 weeks old and this baby will be about 3 weeks old - give or take). Moving with ONE was hard when they are that small...I don't know if I want to find out what it's like moving with 3...a 3 year old...a 1 year old...and a 3 week old. But I suppose we'll pray about it and hope that we are listening.

But for now, it's Christmas time in our house. We just put up the tree (Topher did most of the decorating). I will post pictures when I get them. Right now the sun is out and the tree has to be in front of the window so any pictures I took wouldn't turn out very well. Topher was so excited, I let him put the star on top of the tree...it took a very long time, but we got it done.
I'm glad that I do my shopping so early. I HATE last minute shopping, it drives me crazy, plus when people open presents from me, I'm just as surprised as they are because after that many months, I can't remember what I got for them anyway. LOL! I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with Luke and Sara (Jon's sister and her husband) and of course their boys. I was a little disappointed when I found out that Jon doesn't get any days BEFORE Christmas off. He gets Christmas day and that weekend off, then back to work on Monday. I thought this would be the first Christmas when I don't get to be around any family (other than Jon and the boys). But Luke and Sara invited us to come open presents with them. And my aunt Melin only lives a few minutes from Luke and Sara, and her and her family will be at their home for Christmas, so we will get to see them too. YEAH-A-H! I'm super excited about that.

So, hey, if anyone is still reading this REALLY long blog...you can stop now, 'cause I don't have anything else to say. LOL! <3
