Karate

Jon had a karate tournament (it was here at home...so we didn't have to travel hundreds of miles this time...YEAH!) He did really well. I think he got a trophy in every event. Usually they do all the adults at the end, so I stayed home with the boys and called Rachel to see if she could babysit. She said yes and asked what time. I said "I don't know, I would guess around 5-ish?" (that's about the time that the adults started doing their stuff when we were at the Worland tournament) so we had that all planned. Then when Jon called me back I found out that he'd already done 2 of his things in the tournament (one of them was the one that I really wanted to watch...but oh well, right?) So after the dishwasher repair guy left (yeah, our DW is having trouble again, but that's not the point of this post) I loaded all the boys into the car and went to Jon's tournament. Then when we walked in he was just finishing up another part. Grrrr. So we missed that one too. :( Well, we did get to see his forms. Chris was a little disappointed because "Daddy was supposed to hit the bad guy". I told him that would come later and he's not really a bad guy, they were just practicing (I was afraid that if Chris thought the guy was really a real "bad guy" then he might run into the ring and try to beat him up for hitting his Dad. :)
So we did get to see Jon sparring (that's one of my favorite things to watch now, Jon just looks like he has so much fun). All the boys were cheering for Jon. Chris was kicking the air and punching and jumping and yelling "DAD! DO IT LIKE THIS!" Ethan was sitting (more or less) and yelling "HIT HIM DADDY! GET HIM!" and Justin was squirming around yelling "HI DAD! HI DAD!" (Pretty much the only words he knows hehehehe) It was pretty cute. All the guys standing over by Jon (his competition) were smiling; they all thought it was pretty cute too.
And, hey, since we had the babysitting all set up for 5 anyway... I let Rachel know that we'd already be back from the tournament by then, but if she didn't mind babysitting anyway we'd still love to have her come watch the boys so Jon and I could have a night out. It was a lot of fun.
